How to use Dr. Smooth-Stone
Use and measure same as you would water. Use full strength for Stone or Plaster mixes under 10,000 p.s.i.-
When using higher p.s.i. Stone mixes, (10,000 to 23,000)-dilute DSS 30% with filtered water, and use as normal.
Base stones benefit using DSS as well.
DSS is known the world over as
‘The Model-Makers Friend’
Invented in 1995, the world’s first Tricopolymer
Liquid was designed to fully hydrate the Gypsum
Molecule, thus increasing the performance and
dimensional stability. In addition, the Tricopolymer Liquid has proven to have many additional traits valuable to Dental Labs, Owners, and Customers. DSS added to base stone, die stone, or plaster- hand-mixed or vacuum blend, you will first notice the texture improvement, flow and stackability. Notice the ‘curing effect’, from outside to center, instead of ‘side to side’ like water does. This difference is proper setting without warping effects. Warp elimination leads to proper fits. Notice the accuracy in detail, since the ‘outer-facing of stone’ is the most important, the hardness achieved in the facing areas remain intact thru the stages of work. It is well known that DSS keeps margins intact. In fact, Labs report a major decrease in remakes and breakage, allowing speed in processing, improved quality and hardness, to name a few- thru the next 15 steps. It is usually the Porcelain Technicians who introduce DSS to a Lab.
